It sounds like we're all pretty much telling the same tale. The bay is loaded with tons of bluefish, but the bass are harder to come by.
On Saturday, Capt. Ed hosted the Josh Tarnoff charter. He's been trying to get out with us since last summer, but every trip we had scheduled got blown out so I'm glad the weather finally cooperated. They had a good time bending the rods with blues up to 12lbs and they were able to pick up 1 bass on the troll which weighed in around 17lbs.
Sunday, Capt. Ed and I had out Jeff Gheraldi and the boys for an afternoon trip. It was definitely slower fishing compared to Sat with a blue here and there, but still enough action to keep the adrenaline rush going. A few hours into the trip we boated our first bass. Unfortunately, it wound up being our only bass of the night. The guys still had a blast enjoying a beautiful evening on the water with a lot of laughs (and cocktails).
We will be running open boat trips on Wed, Fri and Sun this week. Please call or email me if you're interested in joining us.
