Spruce 5/17

Hit Spruce with the wife on Sunday from 8AM to 2PM. Slow day...couldn't find any concentrations of fish but managed 2 Smallies, 1 LM about a pound and a half, 2 Crappies, and a catfish. The Crappie, biggest smallie, and the catfish were caught on a 1/2 ounce Excalibur XR50 rattlebait in Foxy Lady color in about 6 ft of water. All caught by the wife of course..:mad:. I got the other smallie and the LM on a T-rigged 4 inch Chigger Craw green pumpkin in about the same depth. All spread out across the place and all throughout the day so no one spot or specific time. Just needed to put in the time and miles to find'em. Plus throw everything you got in all depths until something worked. Can't stay in one spot and keep throwin the same thing...gotta move and change was the lesson of the day. All in all a great day out there and we caught some fish.

But to tell the truth Saturday was the same story. First had to deal with the triathlon that was going on there and it took awhile to get to the parking lot. Then pretty much walked the shoreline all day. Fish did not want to come closer at all. Middle of the lake was teaming with it. Saw multiple aerials by bass and pike but there was no way for me to get to those spots. Managed to hook only into one pike and lost it by the shore.

All I had to show for the whole day were bunch on ticks that I have managed to locate when I got home.

Leaving I was seriously thinking of hooking into Turkey that was foolishly decided to come out by where I was to avoid the skunk but lol I left it alone.

Maybe you should go alone next time Ken. That way if anything is caught theres nobody else to beat you. You'll be the champion for the day, lol! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, still a great day to be on the water. Keep on fishin' buddy!:D
