Finally got out and had a good run , found some marks and jigged bluefish until we had enough. Water temps between 55.8 and 57.6. Decided to run back inside to play some catch and release. Yes they are here.

Now the LOOK OUT. Came back inside on the bottom of the outgoing, the river was dredged in the fall, channel is deep, but both sides of the river are very shallow. I have been running out of Shark River either as a mate or my own boats since 1961, I saw land were I have never seen it before. Sandbar exposed on the Avon side about 50 yards off the docks, sand exposed under 2 more bridge spans.

Took a ride back to Belmar Marina, major sand off tip of island, exposed island larger and higher than ever. Entrance to Channel running to back is narrow and tight. I can see a lot of running gear getting damaged.

Went back to my marina the old A P's, boats against the bulkhead all sitting on sand. Just a warning, let's all have a safe boating season.

Narrow is an understatement in the back. If theres 3 to 4 feet of water back there at dead low your lucky. I have never seen so much real estate exposed back there. You would think they would have at least taken the time to dredge the channels in the back last year.

We're low enough to slip under the RR bridge in the north channel most of the time. But the big guys at Seth's place? I'd be afraid to run that back channel at even at high tide!
