Got a late start due to the heavy fog. Left the dock around 930 with 1/4 mile visibility, drizzle, wind and rough seas. Yes, I should have stayed home and hugged my pillow. Figured we would stay close to the harbor. Had an instant bite then nothing. Took a rough ride across the bay, set up by the fleet and (wait for it) nothing:(. Decided to pick up and try one more spot. Got beat up again crossing back, tossed the anchor and had fish on chunks right away. Not the striped ones mind you, but the yellow eyed demons. This was fine by us as we just wanted to bend the rods today. We played catch and release with big blues then decided we had had enough. It was cold, foggy, rainy, and rough. Very happy with the way the dirty shrimp handled and we caught fish. The only problem is I feel like I went 12 rounds with mayweather:D
Gonna take me two days to recover, but not a bad day

Or that he walked away virtually unscathed and $120 million richer! Lol...

Yes.....I got to the baitshop on 35 and after seeing the fogged in bay and feeling the damp East wind blowing 20 I made the call at 7am to forego the 21 footer for a more comfortable 75 footer out of the Atlantic Highlands. We had a lot of fun battling the big blues all morning. Much safer and a lot more comfortable. Great crew on the Star !!!

Nice report Shripman Steve, we left the dock around same time and fished same areas w not much luck in dirty water. We made a move once fog lifted to an area further down the bay and good action on blues on light tackle.
Was a cold misty day today, good job getting home safely👍🏻
