AM - Had the Ralph Tallericco charter out this morning. Got our bait fairly quick and once on the grounds had immediate action. The guys picked away all morning and before the day was over had boated 17 keeper bass to 28 lbs only keeping our legal NY limit and a mess of blues to around 10 lbs. Fish were caught on chunks, live bunker and plugs.

PM - This afternoon we had the Mike Suszynski charter. Got our bait quick again and once on the grounds, all hell broke loose. As soon as the first bunker hit the water there were 6 bass on it. This continued for almost an hour and a half before slowing down. By the end of the afternoon the guys had boated 24 legal stripers to 32 lbs, only keeping our NY limit and about 40 plus blues.

curious - if you are sailing from the Highlands in NJ - why do you keep saying you're only keeping "NY" limits?

It means he's fishing in New York waters and therefore legally he has to abide by New Yorks regs.

New York: 1 fish, minimum size 28″ (Apr. 15 – Dec. 15) - then he must be very conservative to give up the extra fish and only keep 1 per man - NY regs look updated 4/22/15

He goes to where the bite is. 1 nice bass per person is plenty, but if the customers really wanted more he could always run back over to the NJ side and try and catch a couple over 43"

do you know how hard it is to catch one over 43inches in the bay.

I am very aware of how hard it is. Hence the word "try."
