1st monger trip of the "spring". rowdy crew aboard & perfect weather so I am screwed for the rest of the year. Fishing started off picky short cods, a keeper cod , philly delicacies then at abouth noon everything stopped biting. no bergalls, no dogfish,ravens,pout nothing just like a switch went off. Captain Hank hit every square inch of the canyon & the fish just got lockjaw. at about 2:15 they started nibbling a bit & we put a few more in the boat but nothing crazy. I had about 8 or 9 short cod & 3 keepers. Had to release a bunch of beautiful banana cod..thanks government. ended up with 15 keeper cod, 2 keeper tog, 2 ling & a nice bucket of Philly delicacies. Also someone was flying a drone over the monger on our way out today guess mugging & stealing numbers is now in the skies!
Johnny & Kevin were top notch as always always there to help ya but kev YOU ARE THE MATE YOU TIE WHATEVER RIG YOU WANT lol Hank smoked 3 cartons & apologized to everyone for the "suck" fishing but I got a tan & thats all that matters! waters still bitter cold hope this easterly brings some warmth in from ofshore. Cannot wait to get out with Hank the boys again in 3 weeks! as always follow the link for pics
