have off work this week so i've been fishing like a maniac. here's the reports.
monday: tag team trolling with my buddy, we peppered those trout with our homemade flies. no luck at the first lake so we switched gears and moved to another lake. it payed off big time with my personal best brown trout at almost 23 inches and 6lbs 10oz! I told him he drives the boat so well for trolling he should start his own guide service haha. If we're only pulling one fish into the boat for the whole day...at least is was this beast!
tuesday: same deal but increased the spread with a third guy in the boat, nothing else worked except for the same fly and depth as monday, but again only one fish and it wasn't as big this time, 3.5lbs brown.
wednesday: couldn't decide where to go with my jon boat, was going to go to a small lake because of the wind but decided to just stay local and hit cong. threw mini mite lures under a bobber pretty aggressively and little twister tails and floating rapalas targeting crappie. whacked up 11 crappies, 4 perch, 4 gills and a rock bass. then right before packing it in found a shallow section with some small active bass. nailed two for the first 2 bass of the open water season. will be back at it tomorrow...somewhere...
