Planning on heading out for the first time this year in the morning, just want to see what areas have been productive recently. I've heard Cliffwood beach but I've never fished there so I'm not sure where exactly to go. Plan on being where I choose around 7:30am.

I've been starting my season in raritan bay for many years.

My advice is don't be afraid to explore. The fish are migrating into the bay, you can get lucky in many places. For the most part the entire jersey side has a similar shallow profile. Maybe I'll see you there.

I may be in the Belford area.....

Oh,

And most people catch very little when the water is this cold...

But everyone is tired of waiting

Went out bright and earlly on monday morning paddled out about a mile or so thru some lures and plastics with no fish, paddled back in and picked up some calms and still no fish around. Hopefully next week see how the weather is on Sunday heading down to manasqaun oulet see what happens.
