I have a small outboard that the inside of the engine compartment is pretty dirty and wanted to clean it before I start replacing parts. The foam from the cover has dried up and is really making a mess and don't want it getting sucked into the carb. I already removed what was left and sealed the cover but what or how should I clean off the rest of the motor? Can I use some kind of spray simple green ? Degreaser? etc. and rinse it off with water ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi..we carry a proprietary degreaser that we use in our shop. If you like stop down and I can set you up with some. A shotglass full would take care of an outboard.

I am going to spray my engine with gunk degreaser and hose down gently.
