With flounder season a joke, and no interest in stripers, when does a decent bottom bite start given the cold winter? Looking to get out towards the end of April on one of those trips when you can get some ling and a decent flounder or two off Scotland, etc.

Any party boats planning to run/target tasty bottom dwellers in late April?

Thanks

Last year the ANGLER was the only boat that ling fished. We started with bass as there were no ling till the first week of May. I will probably do the same this year however I may try a ling trip in a few weeks to check it out. I will post it here when I do. thanks George Angler

The highlands boys don't run bottom to often. Mostly bass or fluke. The bingo runs ling trips on occasion.
Wish at least one Atlantic highlands boat would make daily bottom trips year round for ling and such. Seems like only a few brielle/ point boats do that.

As an alternative, check out Tagged Fish out of the Highlands. He has a bunch of bottom/mudhole trips scheduled for open boat.

In 2012 we killed ling in the first and second week of March on the Angler.

I'm ready when you are Capt. George!
