I think that newly done deck could only be one boat. And I missed it with CG inspection today.

Wow 8 keepers, sick catch. I'm green with envy. I drove down on Wednesday at 4 am to find out they weren't going in the parking lot. So I hopped on another boat around the corner for their kickoff day and caught 9 shorts.

Nice to see cod making an apparent comeback in local waters. Great fish to catch and great table fare. Wasn't that long ago a cod trip locally was unheard of for all practical purposes!
Curious what people's thoughts are for what appears to be a stronger stock of fish this year. Do you think the very cold season has more of the stock from the east migrating into our waters, have there been more herring around which the cod stocks have followed into local waters or is the stock actually rebuilding and the New York bight area is finally starting to see the impact of a stronger and healthier fishery. Whatever it is, hope it continues and I hope we learn from our mistakes, a sustainable cod fishery for recreational anglers would be a great thing and will certainly help party boats and other ancillary businesses deal with the otherwise difficult winter months. Now if we can get whiting and ling back to the numbers they once were, there'd be a lot of smiling faces in the fall right on through to the spring.

Cant say enough about the new ride. Bigger , faster , drier , MUCH quieter...
The amount of keepers (almost all fish caught) was great but the class of fish is why this trip should not be forgotten by the dozen or so anglers that were smart or lucky enough to be there...
