Jigging world had great deals on gulp hooks swivels and fluoro. Pickles were good as always. Stormr is about the same price as always. .. you might save 10$ or so.

Buy an Avet Reel at any retailer at the show, then go see the Avet Reel/G & B Booth to claim a free hat or towel.

Definitely stop by Bucktail Boys - great stuff - sit in on Keefe's seminar too... I saw it yesterday and was glad I did.
To that note, a number of the seminars were good and lets you really make a day of the event.
There was one booth where a charity (I forget the name) is selling new unbranded rods and reels for super cheap... check them out - got some good deals for some back-up freshwater stuff (like 2 lefty baitcasters for $15 each)

Jigging world had 20% off yesterday. Picked crazy Alberto's brain at the st croix booth for about 30 mins. The guys at meltzers were awesome. They were offering up som nice deals on the high end stuff. If anyone is interested in deep dropping w electric, efingers booth had a tanacom bull 750 for like $550. That's a crazy steal for that reel. Doubt it lasted thru yesterday without being gobbled up, but worth checking out. Joe Schute has some cool tweaks to his stuff too. Def worth the time swinging by there. The 8 oz and 5 3/4 oz glow heads with glow Mylar are gonna be killer!

Fred knows fishing and he's sharing stories, knowledge and dance (salsa) moves at the Shimano booth. Stop by and say "hi", and while you're at it, have him show you some of the Shimano tackle he uses. I was able to check out the new star drag reels, a sweet electric reel, the new long cast surf system, and a display of rods for all sorts of situations. I was impressed with their booth and the knowledgable guys who staffed it.

There were other things there besides the pickles, beer, and seafood. Overall, I thought it was a good show for the exhibitors and the retailers and NJFishing sponsors. The Bucktail Boys' rattle tail bucktails were interesting. So were the trolling lures and gold imitation Krocodile striper jigs from Montauk Fishing Gear. The hammered jigs at Runaway were worth it. Jigging World's selection of imported octopus hooks were a bargain. There was a nice assortment of sunglasses from Costa Del Mar in their booth manned by captain Jimmy Gahm. The Gambler crew was on hand as well as other well-known and popular charters like Fins on Feathers and Shore Catch and Reel Fun. Fishermen's Supply had a great selection of tackle and foul weather gear and lots of Guy Harvey apparel. The samples of the barbecue sauce were awesome especially the Texas style sauce. Effingers and Meltzers business was booming and I saw lots of people walking out with bags of stuff. There was just too much to remember so you'll just have to go and see for yourself. Be sure to drop a few bucks with the exhibitors too.

Spent the day with Kevin Bogan and it was non-stop selling rods all day long... couldn't resist these life-like lures right across from us... they had them swimming in little tanks and I finally had to get a couple to try out. The place was packed yesterday and all the vendors seemed to have a Great Day... and I couldn't stop eating the pickles all the way home!! :D

Just wanted to thank all NJFISHING members for stopping by to say hello and introduce themselves. Also a pleasure speaking with people from this forum.
Special thanks for those who sat through the seminar we presented at each day. I hope that my enthusiasm and knowledge will help you improve your fluking experience.

So there were rattle tail bucktails available there.....new concepts I guess. Wondering if any other tackle sellers or manufacturers were opposed to this or had concerns?

That's what I meant to say... My bad!
Met a gang of old friends while working the Shu Fly booth. Al Ristori and fly legend Joe Blaze came by to sample some of our new fly rods which are really getting popular. We were selling L/R hand fly reels for $40 with tapered fly line already spooled on them. Good deal that was. We blew out of bunch of real nice blackfish/cod poles for $50 each. Fuji guides on some nice blanks. We will be coming out with some first class light saltwater rods with cork grips and butts in a few months.
I want to thank Billy Meltzer for selling my son his first surf pole at a great deal. Meltzer Sport Shop has been in business for many decades. Their prices are more than fair. I saw a hundred or more rods walking by with the orange Meltzer signs attach to them. They have seasoned fishermen as sales people, which is rare nowadays.
Thanks again to everyone who came by. It made my 10 hours go by fast. -Cuz-

We had a great "preseason" Cock Robin breakfast gathering Saturday morning at the Edison Diner prior to hitting the Expo. It was so much fun seeing all who showed including crew members Capt. Jim, Deckhands Bill (Reel Nauti), Stephen, and Garrett. There was even talk of making this an annual event!!!!
Not all who came to breakfast made the expo but most did and we had a fun time there as well. It is amazing how I can walk through the doors knowing that I do not "need" anything and still spend over $100.00 lol.
Like everyone else, I cannot wait to get back out on the water with you guys!!!
Tight Lines!!!!
