got a lowrance chartplotter and it came with a set of base maps that include NJ but they aren't very high detail, so i'm looking at the options for a map chip for it. i'm mostly in raritan bay/sandy hook, sometimes down behind LBI or ocean city. bay and river fishing, i don't go offshore.

i hear a lot of guys run the navionics maps, that the best for NJ? looks like c-map and "nautic insight" are also compatible but haven't seen many local reviews on them.

the "insight genesis" is also interesting (you take a sonar log, it gives you a custom chart), but doesn't seem very useful on the salt since it doesn't include any nav markers, just contours.

i ran nautic path on my lowrance units on the Sea pro,
make sure you have it on the correct user settings,
there are 2 settings that show channel markers , one of them has little detail almost like a car type gps, the second setting has as much or more detail for the areas you said you will be fishing .
the only spot i found the navionics to have more detail was around the shrewsberry rocks
