Caught and released 7 white perch to 9" on tube jigs Saturday evening in the rain and fog in Central Jersey. A bait fishermen did better with minnows for bait. An ice breaker went up and down the lake. When I returned the next day I didn't get a hit. 6 guys from China killed everything that they caught on minnows. I went to another pond, but it was still mostly frozen.

Sounds like a fun day of fishing. Those White Perch put up a nice fight. Save the fish. Don't let anyone kill anything!!!

If you were fishing where I think you were, then lots of those minnow guys do NOT have licenses, nor do they keep legal fish. You gotta report it when you see it dude... Otherwise they're gonna wipe out a really diverse, and healthy fishery.

We report guys filling bags with short pike and everything else at budd all the time. No officer ever shows up. Best bet is to mount a cannon on your boat and try to sink them like pirates!

Use the OGT hotline. It is the best way to get some extra patrols in that area.

I wonder if the ice breaker was for the Princeton rowing team.

I wouldn't want to see what the inside of those guys' cooler looked like. I have a feeling it would break my heart. People treat these lakes like a free-for-all supermarket shopping spree, but the reality is, it doesn't take much in the way of over-harvest to degrade a good fishery.
