With the frigid weather I decided to build me a few rods. The first that I've finished is my new tog rod. 7'6" 20-40xh. Mhx blank!

Capt lou that's what I made it for...general bottom. I have 2 already 8'6" and 8'. I used to only fish head boats so I liked it at least 8". Now I mainly fish 6 packs and the 8" can get a little clumsy so I decided to make 7'6".
Best of luck with the new stick

Togman / Lou which MHX model blank are you using for Togging?

This is the third one I'm building for tog. This is 7'6 20-40 xh. I also built a 8' 20-50xh and a 8'6 30-60 h. The 8'6 is better for early season and head boats as it can be too long for charters. The 8' I built is my favorite so far, although I haven't used this 7'6 yet!

Are you looking for a model number?

I'm also interested to try an MHX blank, was wondering if this would be good for 16 - 20 ounces and bait for offshore sea bass?
Model number of the 7'6" 20-40XH, is this the flipping stick?
Thanks.

Thank you Doug, I appreciate to kind words. As far as using 16-20 ounces, I couldn't give you an honest answer because I haven't fished it yet. My guess would be it may be a little light for that heavy lead.
