Headed south on non sponsor boat out of cape may. Captain been fishing a new spot and has had good quality size fish. We headed about 30 miles off and water temps in 44 range. I had good bites from start to finish. Ended my day with 12 keepers to 12 lbs. releasing atleast 3 fish over 9, one being 10-11 lbs. Had 2 double headers on snafu, a 5 and 8 lber. I had around 8 fish over 9 lbs. a lot if the fish we though were 10s weighed in at 9-9.5 at the dock. Big fish if the day was a 27 inch female that was released. We were flipping 7-9 lbers over the rail, capt even broke his top shot flipping a 8-9 lber, but we were able to laugh about it, lol. Certainly a day I will be remember. It's gonna be hard to beat this day and makes me want to quite on a good note, but prob not. Enjoy the pics and video clip.

Nice Job jimmy. Years ago NK3 used to have a camera they would drop down and you could see the fish on the tv screen on the boat, it was pretty cool. Nice footage!

Wow an awesome trip. That underwater footage was phenomenal. Doesn't have to be a big tanker or wreck for black fish to school around. Impressive amount of fish, amazing what the underwater natural habitat looks like. It's a shame at the same time what one commercial trawl could do to that entire habitat. If more of the oceans area was left untouched, it's insane how many fish there would be for everyone's benefit.
Thanks for sharing your report and the video. Awesome!

I was thinking the same thing. I did't know if the waterproof case would hold up. Jimmy, was that your goPro or the Captain's cause I know he has one too.

Oh yeah, I've personally had mine down to like 130ft scubadiving. They work great! And video quality is amazing.

Cool to have an underwater camera on the boat. Would be great to drop a go pro down and have a live feed up to the boat but don't think that is possible. You lilely have to bring the camera up to watch the video, correct??

I know the WiFi connection would allow you to connect to your phone. Just not sure of the range. Then I found this youtube video. Sounds like a science project.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49K2hjV9OOY

Thanks everyone.
Not my gopro, one if the guys onboard. Build a enclosure around the waterproof case to stabilize it. We didn't get a chance to view footage till it was uploaded. We didn't even know if we got footage or if clarity would be an issue, apparently not.
Pulled out the phone once the bite slowed down

Great Vid. i fished with that Capt before too. I think one the best Capts down there. Especially for bottom fishing. I also believe the bottom fishing is so much better down there because there is a lot less pressure on them.
Thanks again for posting.

how deep where you clarity seemed really good. Did you just tie the camera to a line? Thanks

120 ft. Gopro was dropped down on rod and reel with a 2lb tilefish sinker.
The guy had gopro in custom made enclosure to stabilize it in the current, worked great.
