Happy New Year to you and your family. We at Parker Pete would like to thank you for a great year in 2014. We look forward to 2015 and all the great catches that will be had. we are booking trips already for the spring striped bass, if you have a date in mind we highly suggest you book early. You can still get the 2014 Rate through the end of January. After that our price for inshore 6 man charters will be $780 plus tip for mate. below is our 2014 recap and the list of sport shows and seminar we will be doing this winter. come stop by and say hello.
We started 2014 with the big Bass back in May with some days the fish bitting their heads off and some days not so much.. your typical striped bass fishing. However the fish we caught in the spring were some monsters. We look forward to catching them again this spring. As of now the new striped bass regulations for NJ should be 1 fish 28"-43" and 1 fish over 43" ... it is still unknown if we will have a bonus tag program in 2015. The good thing is we can still catch 2 fish.
Our Fluke season had a later start with very cold water from a long winter. We did see a lot of fish and plenty of 2013 keepers that had to go back.. however , once again when the water temps got where they needed to be so did the big fluke. We had plenty of 6-8 lb fish. some lucky anglers caught fish over 9lbs including myself. One memorable catch was an afternoon trip with a honking south wind, 11 year old Luke who had never fished for fluke before landed his first keeper ever . A 10lb 3 oz, a 30 inch monster. this made for such a memorable moment to see his dads excitement. I then told the young fisherman to take up a new hobby because you just caught a fluke that will be tough to beat.
After our fluke season we did see some good sea bass and porgy fishing but nothing great untill our fall bass run started.
This years fall bass run was very different than usual. We had no sand eels around. Which made jig fish tough. We did have the big pods of bunker and with that we had big bass again. The big fish that head south from the north that we don't usually get this year we did. It was like spring fishing all over again for most of November. Snag and drop and hold on. Some days were better than others, some days it was wait all day and then limit out in an hour.. strange fishing . But then again that is why its called fishing.
Once Blackfish opened we started to do a lot of charters targeting them. We took 2nd and 3rd place in the JCSA blackfish tournament on opening day. After that We had plenty of days of awesome tog fishing. We saw some real monsters. Marty Caught his personal best of 12lb right next to me only minutes after i asked him what his biggest tog ever was. Another young angler had is first keeper ever of 11lb monster.. we also had Brian who almost beat Marty fish of just under 12. It has been a great blackfish season. Plenty of limits were had of real nice roaster fish. We are still fishing as the weather allows in January but as of Lately its just a little to bitter out to do so.
So Lets look forward into to February, We would like to invite you to come see us the annual sport shows and seminar for Bucktailing big Fluke .
