shark fishing

any guys on here shark fish from the surf/shore? I bought some pretty decent equipment over the course of last year and i haven't gotten to really use it yet. I tried once while on vacation in wildwood but later found out that i was on the wrong beach due to the bottom not dropping off or something.

anyway just seeing if any guys here have done it as i'd like to try it this year, i'm not looking for a huge shark or anything, just looking to get a taste for now. wondering if anyone has some starter points or something, maybe a beach where plenty of small sharks are landed every year that isn't really a secret or something.

seeing how much info i can gather up before shark season.

Look up Dante Soriente on facebook, he does a lot of night shark fishing off LBI and Island Beach State Park. He might even offer to join you. He also catches jumbo sting rays at night on the bay side off some of the local docks and piers. He's a good guy to connect with.
