The Hi-Mar Striper Club proudly presents its annual fishing flea market and seminars to be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015.

When: Saturday, February 14, 2015

Where: VFW Post 2179
1 Veterans Lane (off Rte 36 east)
Port Monmouth (Middletown) NJ, 07758
(behind the Dunkin Donuts)

Time: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Fee: $5.00 (kids 12 and under FREE) (includes all four seminars)

9:00 am: Bucktail Boys (bucktailing techniques for fluke)

10:00 am: Capt Rich Kosztyu from MR Charters (striped bass techniques)

11:00 am Capt Chris Bauer from Long Shot Charters
(inshore sharking techniques)

12:00 pm Jeff Dement from the American Littoral Society
(striped bass migration and surf fishing on Sandy Hook)


Food and drinks available.

Each year, as part of our mission statement, the Hi-Mar Striper Club organizes fishing trips to benefit children from organizations such as:

Make a Wish Foundation
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
Big Brothers – Big Sisters of NJ
Hooked on Fishing – Not on Drugs of NJ
Point Pleasant Explorers
Aslan Youth Ministries

Additionally, we’ve also organized fishing trips for servicemen from Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Bases, along with The Wounded Warrior Foundation and The Take A Soldier Fishing Organization. Through our fishing flea market, tournaments other fund raisers, the Hi-Mar Striper Club touches the lives of many great charities and causes.

We hope you can join us this year for a great fishing flea market that supports some great charities in our community. It will also help break some cabin fever.

Though I am no longer a member of the club, I have been involved in this flea market since it started. I believe this is the second time it has fallen on Valentines Day. With the number of Fishing flea markets, and outdoor exibitions, held every year it is necessary to hold the same weekend or risk stepping on another clubs toes. Most vendors can't be in two places at once either. In this case, the Hi-Mar holds the second Saturday in February. Every few years that Saturday turns out to be Valentines Day.

Sorry but it hapens. So, make breakfast in bed for you love & tell her/him you have to run out & get more coffee & we will see you bright & early! Better yet bring your love with you & buy him/her a new "outfit" for Valentines Day!

Just go buy your wife a nice Rod & Reel Combo for Valentines Day. If your lucky she may say keep it then you can break out the candy she may also say keep it it's getting better. The worst that can happen is she gets mad leaves you then you can go fishing the next day with a new Combo & a box of chocolates. Remember the line from Forest Gump Movie life's like a box of chocolates.
