Lucky he was in Palm Beach.

I guess if he was lucky we wouldnt be seeing this story as it woudn't have happened? :) Running alone is very risky. Falling overboard is hard enough to get in a boat alone. Worse yet is the boat is moving.

Fell out of a 36 footer on cruise control? I guess autopilot. Should be easy to make a search line.

Lucky he was in Palm Beach.

That's a pretty incredible story! Not sure how anyone can swim 9 miles in frigid waters especially at night without becoming hypothermic, disoriented, physically exhausted or all of the above. Glad the story had a happy ending, probably about a 1% chance of that happening. You have to wonder why someone would be running a boat that far off shore at this time of year alone and at night. Guy dodged a huge bullet, hopefully others will learn from his near fatal mistake.

Lucky guy.

Dexter used to run his CC alone at night in Florida, too.

Saw him interviewed last night. They are saying now it was 27 miles and a 16 hour swim. He also said that about 10 hours in there was a fishing boat that passed within 50 feet or yards, (I can't remember which), but didn't see nor hear his yells. Frequent jelly fish stings and a shark circling. That'll keep you awake. Emotional press conference, talked about how the thought of his two daughters kept him going. Hope it's not another scam. Unfortunate to have to think that but these days it happens so often.
