Which of the jackets are the best for cold weather fishing. I like the jacket that zips up around the neck. Also, where can you buy these jackets and does anyone have a ball park price?
Thanks

I have a typhoon, love the zipper down in the front, lots of pockets which I also like. It is a very warm coat. It does get heavy when it gets wet, I fished Sat in the rain and noticed how heavy it got. Also water seemed to collect at the bottom of the coat inside. I'm not sure if I was responsible for that with the hose while cleaning up. I need to watch this in the future . Very pricey but I like it.

Do they all come with the zipper in front?

If you tried them on and know your size, check Amazon. You can save a lot if your size and select color is marked down.

What size do you need?
I have 2.
Almost impossible to be cold. Like a thick wetsuit.

EVERYTHING you need to know about stormer jackets....
CLICK (http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76184&highlight=stormr+jacket)
with that said, i DID purchase the NEW typhoon (pre 2014 typhoon models are $129, 2014 typhoon are $189, strkyer- i couldnt justify the $200 upcharge)
after wearing for a month....a bit warmer than a "lobster" jacket PLUS completely waterproof, which was what i was after....wore it training dawgs today and was overheated with the added activity.
i got mine from a non sponsor grumpy tackle shop....
(i feel we owe it to the local BRICK AND MORTAR retailers that support the anglers to BUY LOCAL.....)

Not all have zipper front some are pullover I believe. The stryker has a neoprene cuff in the sleeve and a Velcro lock strap also so water gets down the sleeve. The jacket is almost a survival suit for petes sake. Like i mentioned alot of pockets inside and out. As I said it was expensive but a nice gift certificate sealed the deal for me!
I have the Typhoon model and have worn it all of last winter and this winter several times. I like it allot as I do not have to wear as many layers underneath so it is less bulky. They run big in size, I am 6'2" and weigh in at around anywhere from 185 to 195 depending on if I am working out or not. Lately it has been not. I use to wear an XL with the Grudens orange sleeve jacket. The Stormr seem to run bigger so the large size was perfect for me with layers on. Take the layering into account when deciding on size.
Hope that helps

I'm sure if I could look at both side by side it would be easier! I just need to find a dealer.
Togman
go to website
www.stormrusa.com and then go to dealer locator. There are a bunch of places that now carry them. I would make sure to call first to make sure they have the different styles and sizes in stock before making the drive. If you shop them around you can get them for under retail price especially if you do not care about what color

Togman,
As much as I like to buy local Melton Tackle is offering too good of a deal. Their limited edition stryker jacket is $260 instead of $325. They also throw in free shipping and a very nice dry bag. I got a 2xx and it fits good.

I just bought a Stryker jacket with a bag included from a local dealer, Tackle US. They have a store in Lawrence Harbor and Staten Island and it was a great price.

I dont think its per say real warm but it sure blocks the wind real good.
I can say surf fishing and walking with it on you will sweat your arse off so if you ever do that dont bulk up on under clothes.
I like mine so far. I have the older typhoon which does not zip up around the neck and thats my only cold part.
