No trip today(Sunday) too much wind.
Picky yesterday(Saturday), nothing exciting, a few Cod, Pollock and Ling and some small Taug. Starting to see some more Ling on some drops, should improve.
Sun Kwon Manalapan NJ won the pool witha 13 pound Cod, had 2 Cod a Pollock and 6 Ling.
Some "congas" but not too fierce.
12 Wrecks 5am every Weds,Sat,Sun and MLK Day Jan 19th
Whiting every Friday 6 am

Captain... Would you be kind enough to elaborate a bit further on the Fri 6 am Whiting trips??.. I saw them listed on your web site as well..
Are these "exploratory" trips, or do have some other insight that there may be enough whiting around to target them?.. I sure hope so, many of us old timers miss the hell out of winter whiting fishing.. I hope you do well with them.. If they are around in fishable numbers, you will see a lot of customers that want to go out fishing for them, thats for sure..
In any case, any further information you can provide would be well appreciated .... bob

me too capt! Can you give a bit more color on those whiting. I have have heard reports that they still show up off Long Island,- small ones and nobody targets them. If you find whiting,I'll be on your boat with a least 2 others who love wihiting.

Last two winters we caught quite a few whiting while wreck fishing (not the places to fish for whiting) so this winter we will give it a shot one day a week and see what happens. No promises, no guarantees. Hopefully if the wind doesnt blow for the next four months we will get a chance to get out and give it a shot. Right now could use a few more degrees down in water temps so we will see.
That sounds like an awesome trip. I hope it happens I would love to get some whiting

We had some decent ones on the edge of the Hole in June and July. No numbers but 14"-16" fish which were the biggest ones that I have seen down here in years.

Shoot I have not been winter fishing in decades and would go with a good shot at whiting. In fact I'd re-consider buying a smoker too.
