Fish Monger II Blackfish Limit (12 man) to 13.2lbs - Back at it today looked in a different area n started out with decent life. Pick of nice keepers n some shorts b4 it fizzled out . Was hoping next drop would b the same but it was slow however we did manage another beautiful teen size female fish. Henry rod doubled over and up to the next came the 13.2 lb slob which was weighed quick pic n released for another day. Moved to another area to finish the day and had good life and a nice pick although the weather was brutal. Lost a few guys to the conditions but the guys who toughed it out managed some nice fish. Joe Zagorski was absolutely on fire all day he was high hook with 15 (orl) and had one over 10 lbs ( very proud of ya) . Chris Flamini had nice fish just under 9lbs. They didn't come easy for us but was happy we put together a catch. The guys fished hard in tough conditions w the rain n sea and managed to land their 48 keepers. Thanks again guys!

Hey Jerry I left a square bucket with hooks rigged sinkers and black fishing pliers on the boat. Any chance I can jump on the boat and pick up today?

I want to give Joey Da Fish some props. He showed yesterday that he is a good enough fishermen to overcome the Shrimpman curse. He was on the fish all day and did a great job. Hats off to you Joey.

1- Steve: Prayers sent, stay strong.
2- Joey: Was Henry jigging ? I've seen him get an 8-lber on that trout rod & couldn't imagine it bent any more with a teen ager

Jerry and Andrew would not even let me put the jig in the water, so I had to use hook and sinker. Joey put on a show and congrats are in line for the clinic.

Thanks guys I'm really trying hard. My thoughts are yesterday are this. I think I was really the only guy fishing horizontal yesterday. I think it helped me a lot with the bigger seas my sinker layer pretty flat and I was able to feel only the right bite. I also fished high off the sinker 5 or 6 inches up. In any event it was just my day. I had fish on every drop so I do attribute it to being fishing way way out casting far from the boat every time in those conditions. Capt Jerry's lead supply and my rig supply took a heavy toll. But as they guys on the boat said when you're casting out like that you know you're gonna donate a lot of tackle. Any thoughts on the horizontal thing guys. Looking to learn here

I have heard a few captains say "cast out and find a rock or some structure to fish, once you find it let it stay there and "if u get stuck, leave it for a while and let a fish pull you out!" For whatever the reason, this method seems to work, or "cast out and find a hole in the wreck, if you feel ur sinker drop 3, 5 or 10 feet, that is where the fish are!" When a report says "the guys who worked for their bites were rewarded" or "the crew worked hard to get there limit," this is what they are doing. Dropping your bait and sinker straight down would be just too easy (although it works at times), lol. I have also seen many high hooks casting up current towards the bow, getting slammed every cast, while others are not doing anything all over the boat.

Thanks Kevin. Jerry and John knew she was going back before Jerry slid the net under her. It was like a well rehearsed dance that only lasted 3-4 minutes. John unhooked her before she was out of the net and at the same time I was getting my cell phone, Jerry was getting the scale and scissor to make a small cut under her chin to weigh her. We took pictures and back in the water. Jerry and John did a magnificent job in getting her back in the water to swim another day.

We banned him jigging n he was rewarded :D!!!! Number one thing that will kill a big fish is a scale or hands I'm the gills... she swam away quick as could b.
Joey hell of a job will check for ur buckter in am... anyhow... I always cast around bc even though there is great sticky bottom directly under u casting can let u find the edge ( or the current brings u back to the edge)... also why no matter how u shift the boat some days bite is in a certain area. Now if I can only get guys not to swing n rip there bait off n leave it when their stuck and wait for a bite we would b golden :p
Shrimp prayers sent to u n ur family
