Yea I have caught several fish that would have qualified for it over the past couple years but never even thought about it. Some of these seem a little more interesting to try for. I don't think any will be a walk in the park to do but they are def possible. Being in the right place at the right time is key to doing it.
Would be sweet to start it off with something nice on the ice for sure!!!!
C'mon now I know a few NJF guys who could do it! What about you!!!
Set a goal and go for it don't sit there and say "I wish I could do that"
GET OUT AND DO IT BOYZ AND GIRLZ!!!!!!!

just for the record i did post my personal goal of ultimate multi species 2015 before these changes!! haha.
Let's put it this way, i'm going to get as many different species as possible. I won't be heart broken if i can't get everyone but i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't be disappointed not bagging at least 10 for the elite angler title!
Ice fishing is notoriously slow for me (haven't quite figured out all the tricks or good spots yet, you can usually find me striking out at lake hopatcong during the ice season haha) but come spring i plan on starting to knock species out left and right.
Agreed on the trout slam man...real tough...I've come within 1-2 inches but i've never got a trout of any kind long enough! They are set real long for the skillful angler while other species are so easy it's a joke...idk who comes up with the sizes but oh well let's see what we can do!

Brook trout will be hard to top with the state not stocking brookies... 2015 is predominantly rainbows... Without the big fall stocking of larger brook trout, it seems damn near impossible to accomplish the size requirement. They should modify it to say lake trout instead.

that is some sad news indeed...there might be some held over hiding in a deep hole are of a river somewhere i guess.
I've had a handful of 17" brookies from rocka r. and big f over the past 3 years but never a 19"....real tough and then you look at the crappie...14? i probably caught a dozen bigger than that last year...like i said, idk who comes up with the sizes but some of them are TOUGH!
someone out there probably has a secret brookie spot and is saying... 19", that's a baby! haha

The trout categories are bit unfair. I target only wild trout not the pequest franken trout. This means a 19" wild brown I caught sunday doesn't even qualify:rolleyes: Heck a 14" wild brown is more worthy of recognition than any stockie.
Still think the side photograph/ruler rule is unnecessary. The less you handle the fish, the better. I'm not going to spend 2-3 minutes getting a damn fish to lie still and perfectly aligned with a ruler. Does it really matter if a bass is 20" instead of 21" or a pike 32" instead of 34"? Still a fine fish. Silly.

Jigman, there is plenty of private stocking that will put in the Brook Trout. Club fish don't understand property lines! It's absolutely achievable, hope the hints help!

njfishing members can take a collection, get the permit from the State and stock a few huge brookies from the Musky hatchery in February and we can all take turns catching them and qualify for the award.

Hahaha! Nice...
Would a tiger of qualifying size count???

i'd bet no, but worth asking i guess. same with tiger muskie...probably wouldn't count for either pike or muskie.
