want to set up a bait freezer for fluke season. Should have netted and frozen a few bags end of the season, but I didn't have the freezer room. Looking for a supplier of frozen 3-5" head on Spearing. Spring Lake freezer the best option or are there others?
Thanks

I'll swing by and take a look. Putting a drop freezer at work so I can stock up.
Not sure if it's how they get frozen or in what brine but nothing worse than thawed out bait that the bellies instantly open and fall apart. I usually thaw them in the pack sealed with 2" of creek water. Partyboats seem to have the nicer firm baits that hold up.

I'm pretty sure most of the commercially packed spearing are treated with something to keep the bellies from exploding before freezing but I don't know what.

Hey Bob,
I saw this post last week and ran into Billy from Spring Lake Freezer the other day. I asked him about the spearing and he said that he just got a shipment in a week ago and has all that you could possibly need. I'm sure they are already brined and frozen so that shouldn't be an issue.
Go down there and ask for Billy, tell him I sent ya.

I was buying a case of nice spearing at the beginning of each season. The ns bait store by me said they didn't get have the "Nicer" ones I was looking for last year. I'm hoping that changes this year. It was nice to just grab a couple of bags from the freezer before each trip..
