Headed up to KLG with the bubbster in search of the infamous 'BUBBA' stocked up there last week....we saw pics of a monster 'bow caught over the weekend, and with high hopes we pulled into the lot...

Rain held off for us, but it was a slow day...had a couple hits right off the bat on small pugs, but couldn't hook up....we waded to a bunch of different holes, with similar results...saw lots of guys flyfishing, but didn't see anyone hooked up all day...day was real slow until we came upon me and Bubba's "secret spot", where we got our first 'real trout' in 2013 http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l10/bigrb9/KLGfirstbowaug2013.jpg
Well, as luck would have it, our spot was empty, and on my first cast with a black haggerty jig, I had a solid hit, but lost the fish when it jumped...that got the kid's attention back, and we were locked in... lost my only jig on a snag, and tied on a black trout magnet, and it was game on...next cast hooked up with this beauty, our best 'bow yet ( he had an 0fer on hookups, so I passed the rod off)...couple of quick pics, and she was back to get caught again another day..

We had one other bow today, bit smaller,

but you can't beat getting some nice fish on a warm december afternoon while spending time with the kid :)

...we didn't get BUBBA, but we'll be back soon for him! We're still learning the ropes when it comes to troutin', especially when using artificials only, but days like this make it fun.....
couple of other pics from the day:
