Fished with Kenny and CHRIS today on the Mimi. Conditions were nice but fish really wanted to chew. Picked a few here a few there never really came together. Not for lack of effort by Kenny and Chris started got a few small washed out ones. Moved further a few keepers. Wiggled same thing. Went deeper more of the same. Arty was HH amongst our group with 4 nice roasters. I struggled finally got some good bites. I missed all :eek: put my rod in the holder went to filled up on crabs heading back guy tells me my rods getting hit. I didn't even bother trying to feel to just set the hook. Came tight one a nice 11lb6oz money fish. Always a pleasure to fish the Mimi they know where the fish are but even Kenny can't make they bite ;)

Way to go Joey on the DD. I have seen on decent days when ocean is pretty flat that a dead sticked mono rod will out fish some anglers. No Angler error involved in fishing to tight a line and swinging to much at the pecks.

I will wait for your right up on catching DD tog on the dead stick. I am heading out tomorrow out of Barnegat. I am thinking tomorrow is the day that they will be on the chew.

Thanks guys released it was touch and go but after a few picks but some gills he's there for Ya :) back at it today with Mr Quinn and Company oh yeah the other Mrs Shrimp too. Tight lines hope you all get out today and get you a slobbo

Thank You everyone,after a quick read on the digital scale that HDmarc so generously offered,Chris the mate and I worked together to gently lower the tog back into the ocean he calls home... He swam right out of the net. It then looked as if he wasnt going to make it and rolled on his belly and started to float.The worst part was a seagull landed right next to him at this point and started to peck at Him!Just a few more pecks and I believe a lil tickle from that gulls beak to his sphincter got him ready for action,with a strong flip of the togs tail he launched the gull in the air, and himself back down to the rocks he belongs in. Going out on the Ocean Explorer today with some other friends as well. Hope all out all catch!!

Nice fish Joey and way to go releasing him. I hope that more people follow your example of letting the big fish swim away to fight another day. They are too valuable to end up on the plate. Another big congrats on being able to overpower the curse of the Shrimp. It is contagious and powerful.

Tell me about this curse! Not only did I help Shrimpy with getting his coolers on the boat..., I also saw a bag on the steps outside the boat as Capt. Kenny was unhooking shore power and asked him if there was anything in that bag, thinking someone forgot their rigs or something,and he said "Yes,my lunch", and passed it to me, as I was placing it on the box I see not one but two! Bananas in the bag I am touching. Ohhh damn I say, and the rest went down in history... Worst trip of the year for me as far as catching went, only one short for me all day, and a few bites I should have got but didn't- go figure:confused:

I have been looking on this site to see what day and boat shrimp is fishing so I can avoid it all together!!!! The stink coming off his rod is growing and festering into an unstoppable force that not only affects him but people around him!!!! Soon it will be so strong you won't be able to be on same body of water as that rod! Hahahaha just playing but if anyone is due for a banner day it is shrimp!!

Red Alert Red Alert I will be Fishin New Years Day on the Mimi with the funk now known as the Shripman Stankasaraus. I will be dawning all my protection gear and down grading my hopes as a write this :eek: The boy is due!!
No doubt about it. I hope he lights it up and gets the pool fish. Every day day is a new day to drop bad habits and especially on a brand new year. My advice that Shrimp. Dump that shitty white rod, stop using hermits, get rid of the surgical gloves and go back to basics. Go gettem Shrimpy I'm on your side for now :D
