Hit RV today for a little bit. Trolling East shore with spoons and lead core. Caught a decent 23" laker and then my motor took a crap on me. Had to use the trolling motor to get back in against the wind. Oh well, talked to another guy who did very well with the lakers jerking flies.

Very cool. One of the few freshwater species I've yet to target or land.

Nice looking fish dude. Bummer about the engine, trust me I know all about breaking down on rather large bodies of water. Way to get out and catch something! Keep em coming!:D

Way to get out there !!! I like seeing anglers getting out in the fall and winter not just spring and summer!!! I have caught several of my Largest fish in the winter.
When you get a semi decent day ya gotta go!!!!!!
Love the Valley in the winter it was always where I fished on NEW YEAR'S DAY for many years.
Double anchored and shiners down on the bottom for those Lakers!!!

Glad you got back OK! Three times this year I had motor problems.
Two which were pretty bad situations to be in but was able to fix it on the fly!
One should always have at least a few basic tools in their vehicles AND BOATS just for those Special Occasions so to say LOL!!!

Nice Fish man. How deep were you trolling? I wanted to get out on the RV before it gets really cold.

I was in 60' of water with 5 colors of lead core out and running around 1.5 mph, so you can guess my spoon was down about 30 − 35 feet.

pretty deep. i figured they would be near the surface when the water gets so cold. i guess i gotta try going deeper. i also usually fish around 3-5 colors of leadcore. were you using planer boards?

Nice. Haven't caught one yet, but shorebound there's the possibility in winter.
