Out on Sat, would have liked to have Bass fished in the morning and then run off to do some scouting for the Tog opener but due to 3 mile bass thing we had to do our scouting first then come in for the bass. As a result we were late to the dance missing the morning bite but we still managed to box up a couple keepers.
Sunday was the long awaited Tog opener and with less than a stellar bite out of Squan we decided to take the ride up north. We had bites as soon as the anchors came tight and it continued until mid-morning then it shut down and remained down for the rest of the day. Made a couple a moves but only managed one or two more keepers and a few shorts. Ended up far from a boat limit but still managed to stink up the box with a couple of nice fatties up to 7lbs.
With the cold weather forecasted for this week the bite will only get better. We are booked Sat but open Sunday, give me call if you’re interested in either Striper or Tog or a combo trip. If we don't book up by Wed, we will most likely run an open boat trip.
