Fish Monger II Thurs 10/30 Seabass / Stripers to 42lbs! Headed out for another bottom trip... got to the spot n after 3 nice seabass here come the doggies. The dogs were a pain had to run from them all day... seabass was a pick... Good life at times but lots of throwbacks today. Nice keepers mixed in Few here few there. Bite got better in the afternoon with some nicer fish. Had a box of 100 seabass when the jig bite blew up inshore of us. Wild sight with birds diving...fishing splashing n reading galore!!! Guys went to work boxed 5 fish pretty quick n lost a few more. Then got on the mother load of readings...had 6 on... big one @ 42lbs, another 39lbs. Boxed up 16 stripers to go along with our 100 seabass. Nice mixed bag and good way to end the day! Crew was a blast Thanks guys

When a guy jumps on the Monger for open boat seabass, should he be prepared to fish for stripers also, or does the boat bring gear for that?

boat has gear but theres ample room to bring your own stuff dude. on all my trips Sportfishingusa brings like 10 rods cause we never know what we will be targetting which is what makes Hanks operation the best he won't waste your time if it aint around

We have gear for everything but feel free to bring ur favorite stick for bass. We don't pass anything up we always mix it up if possible... from here on out we will prob will bottomfish offshore then if there is a bass bite on the way in stop for them as we can't have stripers over 3 mile line even if we caught em inshore so it limits us to only doing it at the end of day.
