I know it's been discussed many times before, NO SHOWS on an open boat. Please guys, if you commit to showing up and filling a space on an open boat, SHOW UP! We all love our jobs as charter Captains, but count on the money that our fares bring us to keep our businesses afloat. (No pun intended) if your not sincere about coming, maybe a head boat is a better place for you. I dont run many open trips but am thinking of taking them totally off my itinerary because of a few bad apples. For the guy that screwed me today. You missed a great trip.

Maybe it is time to start naming names..It could be the same guy..This has happened to many times this year. That spot could have been filled by someone else who really wanted to go.

Yes on deposits. But open trips only come up when we have a charter back out last minute or decide to run a last minute trip. How do I collect a deposit the day before a trip. I just wish people were worth their word.

deposit the day before a trip? credit card.. every trip should be by deposit @ 75% of fare, if the people don't like that, tell them there are other charter boats to call..

Paypal solves that problem

What Eddie said.....Get yourself a Pay Pal account and take deposits with it.

Having said that, people should honor their commitmants and show up. Taking a deposit will certainly help them be more honorable ;)

Yes---PayPal takes a little bigger cut but that's better than no cut at all!!
