I am looking for a good head boat for a Friday seabass trip. My boat is being hauled today. I would prefer a full day boat. Any suggestions?

Where are you looking to sail out of?

Paramount if you are near Brielle.

I would definitely recommend the Ocean Explorer out of Belmar. Fished with Captain Bobby Q. on Monday and limited out. 2 guys to the right of me and 2 guys to the left of me also limited out. Many other limits around the boat. We had about 50 guys on the trip and considering that amount of guys, it was a spectacular day of fishing. I would fish the middle of the boat on the port side. Always worked for me when bottom fishing (except blackfishing. Go to the bow for the togs). A great boat and crew, and Captain Bobby always puts you on the fish........

the big Mohawk. been fishing with them for years. seems mid-ship spots have been doing better than stern or bow spots

While not my personal favorite for a few more $'s but less then a normal 6Pack you can go on the Mad Gaffer (sponsor as well). Mate Billy is one of the best out there and will keep you fishing. Captain likes to drift, when conditions permit, and when sea bassing this could be the difference between 5 sea bass and limiting out. Those sea bass do love to chase the bait!
I have never been disappointed by the catch I put on when sailing with these guys.

Big Mohawk, no question about it. Leaves early, burns lotssss of gas, and stays late, to go with the best mates around. You won't regret it.

Click on the Party Boat tab above and pick a direct sponser

They are the ones who make this site work with their hard earned money

Gerry is being very nice allowing the hints/direct naming of nonsponsers to stay on

It is pay to play, play with the ones that pay

I personally recommend the Dirty Shrimp. Home-y atmosphere (everyone is a brotha from another motha), captn puts u o the sucko places "this place sucks", all catches go to him but expect only doggies, lastly he uses Joeys #'s!

The only names I see being thrown around are all sponsors?. Am I wrong?

X3, figure out what area you want to sail out of, be it Raritan Bay, Shark River, or Manasquan River, and you can't go wrong with any of the sponsors on this site. Anybody could tell you which particular boat works for them, go where you want to fish and try a few boats out, you'll figure which one (or which ones) work for you.

You are correct.... All boats mentioned here are sponsors and we should support them as much as possible.

Agreed, this should also include the sponsor tackle shops!
Gerry is very lenient when someone mentions a box store sale etc !
Most of local shops can match pricing or r very close, so we should all give them a shot . Once there gone u lose a valuable source of info!
