This NJ chemist is developing a time-release shark repellent polymer with grant money from NOAA. He tested it in the longline industry in sharky Florida waters and it proved to be 70 percent effective in 4 hours, 35-percent in 16 hours. He's making it for the longline industry, so they can catch more tuna and swords and less sharks. Could save the longliners some money on lost hooks from shark bite-offs.

I asked if he could develop it to keep the dogfish off.
