Trying to get out every chance I can,(day or night). Have had a little luck :)
My son had his creek chub just about bit off at the head the other night on the Raritan. Walleye? Pike? Any thoughts?

Nice Bronzies!
I would guess it was an Eel that decapitated your Chubb. With Walleye, you'll usually get puncture holes, not a complete bite-through.

Nice fish dude! Good to see the kids on the fish and into the game of fishing. Don't forget your tape measure and lighter, you've got some rather large BRONZE out of the river thus far. See you out there. TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

Nice ones! Pike in the Raritan come out of the Millstone; guess you know this, not that it's likely one would just bite the head off.

Where at on the Raritan? I am new to Fishing up here and have been searching for a nice spot. So far only caught a few pickerel in the D & R canal by landing lane. looking for some small mouth action. Never caught one before only LMB which are common usual lakes.
Thanks

Where at on the Raritan?
Caught @ Findurownhoneyhole, NJ.
Del. R. smallies on the feed too. A couple of evenings ago, south of Frenchtown, caught 7 (largest @ 18”) & a redbreast.
Foul hooked a quillback in his quill, & failed @ hooking a BIG koi. Per usual, all on # 9 floating rainbow trt. Rapala.
Water very, very low & clear. Leaves weren’t too bad.

Kiko, a clean bite off usually means a toothy critter, (pike, musky or possible walleye) they all live here. But it's always a snapper that takes what you've got, and leaves you with nothing but you're heart pounding and a broken rod.;)

Just a warning to my fellow members who have been fishing the same area- As I was walking out with my son,I saw the cops lights go on and then park behind my vehicle..
He made a comment about me being there a few hours after the park closes and it's a $200 fine:eek:
Gave me a warning and drove away:D
