My tuna trip is cancelled, now my striper trip is cancelled..... I need to fish or I will go crazy I think. Where can I surf fish? I have the right rod and I have the tackle and an entire day/evening but I don't have any idea where to go and have never fished from land for stripers. I am not asking for your spot and I don't expect you to post it here. I am a seasoned fisherman at sea just not from land. A little hint so I can have a chance. PM me if you have any guidance.

Thanks friends

Unless you have room on your boat for me. I have cash to split costs. ;)

I don't know what you mean by having the right rod and tackle, but just go to the Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Belmar area and throw smaller plugs - like bombers and sp minnows around the rock piles from the beach.

Alright I'm going to give the hook a try and stand out in the rain and that's got to be better than the week I've had.

SAT
S WINDS 15 TO 20 KT...BECOMING SW 10 TO 15 KT EARLY IN THE
AFTERNOON...THEN BECOMING W 15 TO 20 KT LATE. SEAS 5 TO 6 FT.
MAINLY IN E SWELL WITH A DOMINANT PERIOD OF 11 SECONDS. SHOWERS
UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON. VSBY 1 TO 3 NM.

W/ that forecast, anywhere on the ocean beaches is iffy. Perhaps the N. end of the Hook is sheltered from the wind, but maybe not the swells. That said, does anyone have any info on peanut bunker on the bayshore? Or perhaps mullet? The bayshore will be sheltered from the wind, and have some swells, but nearly as much as the ocean. My advice -- look for peanuts on the bayshore, PM incoming tide to high tide. Info on peanuts, anyone???
