Yes, we got out but the nasty lady was with us for the the entire trip....actually conditions became "unfishable" with coolers etc. sliding around with every roll, not to mention the footing. NOAA was right on with forecast with rain/mist driven by the wind which increased as the night wore on. Anchored on the Hudson West wall with temp break 70+ to 73+ but no life-nice blue water though-first fish came in at 7:15, second at 8:oo, both longfin, and that was the total...Had 3 blue sharks around for most the night along with porpise and a large school of mackerel and jigged squid...Pulled the hook @ 4AM and got in @ 11...It would be nice if this wind would ever stop...
As always, Capt's Bob & Greg, the crew-Alex, Chris(congrats on expected baby girl in Jan.), Tim & Todd for their abilities and to make a slow trip fun...Always a pleasure to fish the Gambler. Gonna try again for next week's 48....

Wow, if that was me, I would be heading to the market to bring something home w/ a bag of fibs. I for one get the skunk / bad weather reason, but the Mrs. never will. Glad you guys got home safe, I personally / first hand know a "non" sponsor PP boat axed the Tuna/Tile trip today b/c of this front. But the Big J sailed today, those guys are probably getting tossed like a salad as well.

I have been out there with a boat a hundred yards away. We are hammering them they are getting squawk. And vicaversa. Some days you're the bug some days you're the windshield. I will bet someone had a banana on board

I saw that forecast- why did they choose to go and not postpone ? Of course it was unfishable. No surprises there. Better luck next time....bad day fishing better than a good day of work!

It must have been hell out there if they pulled the hook at 4am which is primetime for the bite. Were the seas around 10 ft or more?

I was lucky enough to have gotten one of the 2 lft's.....was told 2 of 3 PB's turned around & canceled...Where the heck is all this wind coming from??? I'm doing all the chants & ritual dances I can think of, but no sacrifices...
