I am surprised not to see any recent tuna reports given the weather windows of the past few days ? This recent sun-tues stretch looks like the only fishable period over the past 10 days :(

some bft's caught down in the lobster claw area- spencer completely covered with weeds- that boat zeroed out on tuna. - lots of blow outs lately- hard to tell what's really going on out there.

Gambler and Voyager were scheduled to sail Sat into Sunday this weekend- anyone know if they got out and how it went?

I saw the Gambler leave Sat night. Big Jamaica left last night and is still out today

Chunking has been pretty good, trolling
Really slow. Weeds have made it difficult.

We had a lot of weeds a week ago last Sunday. But the jig bite at night was very good. The boats tonight should do well based upon Intel from the prior 2 nights.

I HATE WIND!! :mad::mad::mad:
I'm supposed to have a trip planned for this weekend, but as of now it's not looking promising. Also interested in knowing if the big bite has been "far" or just in our local canyons?

We did very well one week ago in the Hudson if that helps.

Yeah yeah yeah I'm very jealous 3 blow outs for me so far this year. I'm hating life right now and the tuna cha cha. I'm sure my back is thankful but my head is ready to explode :eek::mad:

Maybe they're still packing tuna away...Gambler should be out on a 12hr "exotics" trip now...if it doesn't get any worse, the NJF 36hr trip should be a go...IF you can trust NOAA---wind NE/N 15-20kt...seas 3-5/3-6/4-7' Wed/Wed night/ Thurs...fingers crossed----Joey, I feel your pain & I've been trying to take my fishing Bud out on his last trip since late last year.....

Just got back from a two day trip out of Montauk on a NS. We fished block/fish tales with about 120 other boats. Nothing on the troll (including the green stick). Limited out on Mahi in short order, nothing huge but mice size. We had 24 tuna for 10 guys. Six of them were big-eyes. All fish came on either chunks or live squid. On day one we had a few before dark. On day 2 it was all after dark. We drifted both nights.

Most fish were taken on unweighted lines.

That is what buoy weather is showing too. Hope you get out. Today through tomorrow afternoon is showing light and variable on buoy weather. Hope the boats do well tonight.

They were not easy to find. Trolling useless with the weeds. Once on them had to take advantage quickly.
