Fluke Fishing - 2014 vs 2013

Just wondering how you would compare your overall 2014 fluke season to your 2013 season.

For me it was less fish, but much bigger fish. Beat my personal best twice this year. So I said better.

I went with inconsistent. More fish for me this year but less keepers than last year. Action on some of my trips was insane with 15-17 inch fish which makes the future seem brighter but less fish for the box in my opinion

Was worse in the beginning, then blew open after the 3rd week of July. 2014 was much better then 2013. More shorts, more keepers, better quality.

My worst season in years. Hope next year is better. Regs. will probably be 1 fish 24".

For me, worst season in the Manasquan that I can remember. Fish bucktails exclusively, maybe time to try something different. Lots of salad in the usual spots and overall never had a consistent bite. Because of chanel issues in the back, always have to fish incoming perhaps that had something to do with it especially early in the season:(

For me ,it was worse than last year. Although i had several bigger fish than last year,the fluke fishing was either good or a bust. a lot of south wind didn't help .

For me ocean Fluking was horrible! Every time it seemed like it was going to pick up, it just didn't for me. I actually lost interest in Fluking this year!Thank goodness for the Ling and Sea Bass in the early season and the Bonito run later in the season.

In the River, number wise it was on par but last years keeper ratio and size were better for me. However, I did not have a single trip inside when I didn't catch atleast a keeper or two.

This year was nowhere near as good as 2013 for me. If the limit was still 17.5" I would have had a better season with much of my fish being just shy of 18" this year. Hope I manage to catch the ones I threw back next year ;)

Definitely worse in the Raritan Bay area in 2014

Don't know what it means but the absence of the ubitiquous Sea Robbins may mean something for slow fluking in the SH area

I vote for better only because I had bigger fish this year. I did not have as many keepers as past years. This was good year for bigger fish in my opinion, for me the early start was good for a week or so, but fluke fishing was slow after that till mid July. All in all I think my season very good. Jim C

Tons of short fluke this year. It's a shame to have to throw them back after being hooked. Last year was much better for me as far as keeper's go. The size limits are off.

Bigger fish this year for sure but fewer keepers overall, I would like to keep 17" Fluke and return any above 20". Pete

I only went fluke fishing one time this year and caught about 30. Cant really remember last year since I dont care about Big fluke.

Jim you kicked ass this year. Didn't see you catch your big one this year, but saw you catch a 9 and 8 on the same day.
