Letter sent to Mike Waine, Fishery Management about the BS Striped Bass proposals.

If you give a crap about Striped Bass fishing at all and think you are gonna get screwed once again, then maybe read the proposals, and comment to Mike directly at mwaine@asmfc.org

E mails have to be in before the end of the Month......This effects the recreational fishermen as well as the guys in business, So it Ain't just about me folks!!!

Mike,
Just got back from a meeting among the last of us who are trying to survive the "Fishing Business". I gotta say (once again) we are pushed to the limit and have to make a choice, a choice that doesn't matter because, Not one of the proposals on Striped Bass will keep us in business.....I have played by the rules for 37 years, when we had a limit of 1 Striped Bass at 28' and a second fish at 32' several years ago, (plus a slot bonus fish), I was educating my customers on how we could throw those breeders back, take a picture and catch the smaller bonus fish. A whole season of doing this and the customers agreed, we thought we were saving the future.
Now, I am going to be forced (if lucky enough) to kill 36 inch Breeding Class fish if the one choice I have to survive is implemented.!
The Larger Breeding fish go through hell in the process of being caught yet, we do everything in our power to revive those fish and set them free, only when they can swim away. Why not take Breeding fish out of the equation? Doesn't make sense does it?
The Magnuson states that economic hardship can not be taken into consideration when making these rules.....guess that really works in the favor of the powers that be now, right?
My vote is status quo on two fish at 28 inches, I'm sure, I'll have to pay for the consequences down the road.
If I am forced to make a choice to hopefully survive, than I'll take B7, reluctantly and with much duress.

Sincerely, and totally pissed off!
Capt. Ron

If you have the time to click on this or any other website than you have the time to make your voice heard......

The tree hugging environmental terrorists that make up the laws want everyone to only legaly keep 1 striped bass...

When you send the email please include that you would like to see the limit remain status quo... But "b 7" would be the next choice...

Its time to grow a set & fight or get fu@ked

Capt Ron and Capt Chad are right guys, let's go! There's a lot of people on this site alone! We can't let them win. They beat us on seabass. Explains why I'll barely sail until 10/18!!!!!! BS!

This will not be good for Full time fishing boats without other jobs.

Wake up!!!! Email takes 2 minutes.

Thanks for fighting,

Capt Kris

Done.
Never ceases to amaze me when you read these proposals how they basically admit that there is no statistically valid reason to make the changes but they are going to do it anyway based on the hypothetical. For as much time and people as it must take to generate the document it seems getting real information from Real fishermen, real catch data, real stock assessments would suit all of us better. its just like the weather, you want an accurate forecast look out the window, you want to assess the stock get out on the water or LISTEN to those that are out there. I know it doesn't work that way BUT

I know many of you on this board are RFA members as well as I am . Today I received a letter from them asking members to support Option B 1. They stated that many discussions occurred between RFA and anglers, business owners and the list goes on. I guess they did not speak to any Captain or fisherman on this board. I hope everyone sends an e as well as a letter to Mr. Waine asking to keep the regs as they are now until much more accurate info can be obtained. I believe the negs far outweigh the positives with the striped bass issue.

We agree and sent in our support likewise. There are enough of us here on this site to make a difference...... Nelson and Andy
