How's everyone doing tonight? This is my first post , would first like to thank administration for accepting me. My names sam and I have a 21ft fish hawk out of keyport. Started the morning around 7 am off of sandy hook point. First cast grapped one 18 1/2 and the fish stopped biting . Rain was light then picked up and stayed with us till around 11am. (Wet ass to say the least) Fishing was dead then we went inside around 11A off keansburg. Fishing live peanuts and then the day got a little warmer and the fish started biting from noon to 4pm.... grabbed 6 keepers 4 over 22" wit a 27 being the biggest weighing on at 7.24lbs

Live peanuts are a sure thing. If there are ANY fluke around , they will find you if you're using live peanuts.. As far as fluke "leaving the bay", it will be a while before they are all gone..
btw,I was told many years ago by an Atlantic Highlands party boat captain that just as some winter flounder are in the bay all year, so are some fluke.. They will winter over in the deep channels.. Don't know where he got his information, but personally,I have always believed it.
Thats why you see a few of them caught in late March/early April every year by guys flounder or Striper fishing in icy cold water... bob
