Heading down there in couple weeks with some family. I wanted to do some fishing. Can anyone recommend A good boat or captain to fish with? Any pointers would be great.

Thanks

Give a call to Adam on Canyon Runner. I believe he winters there and may be able to point you in the proper direction.

I think some additional information might help point you in the right direction.

Just you fishing or the whole family?
Do you want to stay in the bay, ocean, or go to the gulf stream for pelagics (which not that far out)
1/2 day or full day?

Not sure if you want to pay for a full charter with only 3 people...could get very expensive. If you want to do a shared charter give both Pirates Cove Marina and Oregon Inlet Fishing Center a call and let them you know you are interested in full day off shore shared charters. They may be able to give you some names of boats who have availability.

If you want to do the full charter with just 3 then I think it would be tough to go wrong with most of those boats! They seem to work together to get each other in on the bites...which what I noticed from fishing a few times with them.

Oh and be prepared to pay to have your fish cut! Depending on how many lbs you bring back it could get expensive. The boats use filet services down there as they are not allowed to filet at the dock.

Been going to NC for years Oregon Inlet fishing center will set you up on an open boat type of trip if you wanna go offshore. Never got on a boat I didn't like. If you want to opt to stay inshore go with the Rock Solid he is the cobia king and they fight as good as tuna and eat great too. also amberjack are on the wrecks but taste terrible but will kick your but.

The Country Girl is a party boat located at Pirates Cove. You will need reservations which can be obtained at the booth near the Tiki bar. It only takes 26 and they do venture out to sea . They do target tiles .

The Obsession is by far he BEST. Capt. Ross is fantastic. The Bi Op Sea at Oregon Inlet is also very good.

Check out the rope shop in Manteo. Happy hour at Fishbones. Fish tacos at Tortuga Lair. Enjoy.
