8/30 mahi

Left highlands at 420 am. Fishing by 645. Trolled the ledge and had a nice 15 lb mahi right off the bat. Then a nice fleet showed up and things slowed down. Went 2 for 4 on mahi. Got bored of that and went sharking. Had 1 blue shark come in and start eating our chum pot. Already had a hook in its mouth. Dumb fish. Saw a few pods of porpoises. Water grey/ greenish and about 72.5. Headed in at 1pm. Got a little bumpy last few miles towards sandy hook as usual. Beautiful day on water and a nice midshore trip.

Had about the same deal, but on the way out I hear Crack! And look up to see our antenna floppin in da breeze...-the metal for the mount snapped, who'd a think it ... Wish we could have talked to other boats but today wasn't the day for that.. Did get a pic worthy mahi on the troll when we set up... But nothing else to speak of after that... Ohhh well -,next time... 🍺
