Rough seas today in the ocean. Tom and I spent the entire morning off the Sandy Hook beaches. The best spot was just North of the North Beach in 22’ to 27’ of water where the calm dredges were working close to the beach, we had the place to ourselves as traffic was light today.We could see the half day boats fishing between the channels as the full day boats were further out in the Sandy Hook Channel. I picked up a 5 pound Fluke and a 22” keeper, Tom outdid me with a 7 pound Fluke and three other keepers. Sea Robin strips were the bait of choice along with the Gulp grubs. We worked this area over till noon and headed in leaving them biting.
