stu and carol allen return 8/18/14 great trip (http://www.jennyleesportfishing.com/blog/index.php?/archives/218-stu-and-carol-allen-return-81814-great-trip.html)
http://www.jennyleesportfishing.com/blog/uploads/carol5.jpgcapt's kevin gerrity and dave bender took carol and stu allen of north plainfield,nj out for one of their annual canyon trips. we got weathered out earlier in the month and the allens leave labor day for the month to salmon fish in maine, so this was our only shot this year. we stopped short again but this time it was not very good, we caught one 40 pound yellowfin and headed offshore. upon reaching the hudson, it looked like the old days, a city of lights. the freeport tuna tournament was going on and it was crowded. we drifted all night and at 430 am we started a little bite. we caught 3 for four on 60 pound yellowfins and the guys did a great job fighting them.
up on the troll we could not stand the crowd looking for the big eye so we made a move and it paid off, we had two shots, we went five for six and six for six , 10 longfins and one big yellowfin. two anglers and ten fish..mayhem to say the least. stu, says "we have enough tuna.. can we go catch a billfish." i said yes he better be hungry cause it's gonna be at 24 knots. we love the allens.. did i mention that carol is a saint. i'll repeat it..a saint!
