Where do you think we are with the fluke? Does it seem like they are staging to move out?

Fishing is finally getting good and you want them to move out already

I don't think there are many people on this site that want the fluke to move out. It was just a question to generate a conversation about anyone noticing some specific behaviors over the past week or so that the fluke may be getting ready to move off shore. That's all.

Fluke generally start to move into the deeper water towards the end of august as they get ready to move out, but some of the usual deep water haunts up where I am (ambrose channel, scotland gounds, and others) haven't been holding many fish. Of course this is a personal acct, and word of others I know have tried there, but fluking has been so spotty this year who the hell knows.
cheers

As long as we don't have a big storm in September we should be fine.

No worries Steve. I did post about two weeks ago about going to Montauk and I appreciate you giving me your contact info to give me some pointers about going up there... I just decided that I'd better wait till next year to try and get that 10lber up there.

Full moon in Sept they'll be on the move ! Storm hits could finish it sooner , I've noticed over the years it seldom bounces back after one of these unless u have good deep water numbers '
Easiest way to ascertain if they r on the move is fishing around inlets provides ample amount of fish in the immediate area. This occurs when they exit the bays & rivers to begin the migration off shore !

There are tons of fish in the surf. Getting smaller but they are there. Just keep the storms away and the clean clear water should hold fish for quite some time.
