Had our slowest trip of the year yesterday in the Hudson with an open boat charter on board. Was a trolling trip and put the spread out around 430 and not much action until a bite that never developed around 7. Went a few more hours and pulled a small mahi off of a pot. Around noon our long rigger went down and we had a nice bigeye peel off 400 yds of line, just enough to reach a pot that was off our stern. Fish got wrapped in it and broke us off. Stopped and put 2 tiles in the boat and that was it for the day. Slow day but had a good crew and we worked hard to get the bites we did.
Unfortunately we were not able to get a crew together for the MA500 this week to fish on the 53' Jersey Nutz but the Jersey Nutz crew will be fishing on the 63' Hatteras "Hatterascal" out of Cape May this week. Hatterascal is the tournament boat for team Hatteras and they were kind enough to ask us aboard for the week. Be sure to say hi to the Jersey Nutz crew and come see the Hatterascal.
