Hey everyone, has anyone gone shark surf fishing at night? I've always wanted to... have gone during the middle of the day and morning and caught a couple but from what I've heard, shark fishing is better at night. I usually go to Sandy Hook and am wondering if the technique is different? if you're allowed to stay on the beach at night as long as you're fishing? And if you need a parking permit besides the one you pay when you go in?

Thank you, any info from you experts would be AWESOME!!

now is the time bud.. you should give it a shot. keep the tackle simple.. use a nice fresh bait instead of the frozen bunker... don't go too heavy on the drag in the sand spike so you don't lose the rod.. night sharking very popular in south jersey I know they catch plenty of browns and a few sand-tigers on LBI. you might want to poke a bit south from sandy hook but i am sure there are a few critters in the surf up there as well. quite a few big sting rays in the surf as well. good luck :) post report
