Henry Hill was quite accurate when he stated in Goodfellas - "Everybody takes a beating sometimes." - and man did we get our clocks cleaned at this year's White Marlin Open. Both Canyon Runner boats fished - with me running the 60 Ritchie for marlin and Capt. Mark running the 48 Viking for tuna. Neither boat caught their targeted species - not a single one. We were do for a bad tournament- winning the last two out of three major tournaments - but man was this bad. All we hope is that the exact opposite happens next week at the MidAtlantic as both boats are once again going to compete.

Capt. Mark though would not have his week end with no tuna - so after lines out at 3:30pm he started chunking during the day and limited out with 15 yellowfin in less than 2 hours for the James Greer charter. Capt. Dean followed that up Sunday to Monday with 13 of his own again chunking during the day with the Jay Salmon charter.

Best of all - chunking at night has turned on as well. Moreover, the big-eyes find themselves camped out in several canyons so the MidAtlantic's tuna category should have a fun battle ahead next week.

Looks like we will get back out Thursday or maybe Friday at the for one last trip before tournament week starts again. Hopefully with better results.

We have a couple dates left open in September on both Canyon Runner Boats so if anyone is interested please call - 732-272-4445 or email me at adam@canyonrunner.com

The bad trips make the good ones that much better.

It does suck that it happened during a tourny. Good luck in the MA
