Had a Great charter yesterday 8/10 with a 5 man open Boat we headed to the deep. We did not want to head south to the oh so secret chunk bite so we decided to do what we thought was best and go Big-Eye hunting. Left the dock a little before 1 a.m. and arrived on location around 4:20 a.m.. Cody was setting the lines when we came across some good marks and just as he got the mid-rigger line setup.......BOOM she goes down and starts peeling 30 lbs of drag on a Canyon EX50. The fish took 400 yds of line in 30 seconds so we took the boat out of gear and our flatline gets popped and that fish starts making a Canyon EX16 scream. Our long rigger popped as well but nothing to show for it. Within an hour we had both fish in the boat with the bigger being around 190 and the smaller 170. Guys did a great job going 2 for 2 on some fiesty big-eyes. After that we had a 50lb yellowfin around 6:30 then the bite died. We released a white marlin around 9 a.m. then dropped for some tiles.
Stopped inshore for bluefin for an hour but not a touch.
All fish were caught on Laceration Lure "Snack" skirts over top of select ballys. Purple & White was the trick today. All Laceration Lure products can be bought through us on our website.
We have an open boat next Sat. 8/16. Call 609-354-2734 if interested.
