Well guys, we are happy to report the past few trips have been pretty successful.

On Fri, Capt. Tommy had a 3 man open boat crew and they boxed up some good eats including a bunch of ling, sea bass and 9 keeper fluke (of course Henry had his limit of 5 which is almost to be expected :)). Big bags of fillets and happy customers always make for a great day.

I ran the boat on Sat and decided to focus on fluking because we finally had perfect drifting conditions and the warm water temps that we have been waiting for all season. Less than a minute into the first drift, Keith dropped a 5lber on the deck and I thought we hit a home run, but after a few more drifts and only another 3 fish in the box, I decided to look elsewhere. I finally found a small area that was holding some nice fish so we winded up sticking it out there making countless short drifts and putting more fish on ice each time. Final tally for the day was 18 fluke up to 6 lbs, 6 jumbo sea bass and 5 ling (pics attached).

Today was Capt. Tommy's turn again and he went back to the ling grounds to start off and put around 40 fish in the coolers. They weren't the big baseball bat ling that he had hoped for so on they went to the next spot. This time the species in his crosshairs were sea bass and that didn't take long for each of the guys to hit their 3 fish limit. They spent the rest of the day fluking and the crew enjoyed decent action with shorts and some nice keepers mixed in despite the lack of drift.

All in all, much better fishing than we have seen the past few weeks so if you are looking to get in on the action, now is the time!

As a reminder, please bring your own bucktails, gulp and sinkers on our open boat trips. We usually fish some sticky stuff and losing tackle is part of the game so this is one of the ways we are able to keep our fares so low and allow our customers to fish more often due to the lower price point we offer as a private charter boat. Thank you!
